Issuance of Subsurface Orders 1B and 3A
As part of ongoing regulatory performance evaluations, the AER has issued subsurface orders 1B and 3A, effective February 23, 2018. These rescind and replace subsurface orders 1A and 3.
These orders expand the areas to which the previous orders applied. No other changes have been made. These orders lay out requirements and exceptions specific to operations in the Montney-Lower Doig and the Duvernay geological zones.
The orders and FAQs are available now on the Subsurface Orders webpage. The maps of the orders will also be available on the AER Order System (see the System & Tools Portal of our website) as of the effective date.
