The number of complaints we receive varies by industry sector and is influenced by overall activity levels and specific incidents. We encourage all Albertans to notify us if you see or know of something that requires our attention; we follow up on each concern or complaint we receive.
We categorize complaints in these four ways

Health concerns have possible impacts on human or animal health by upstream oil and gas activities

Odours include all concerns specific to smell (H2S, SO2, etc.)

Operational Impact concerns are those associated with installation operations (e.g. flaring, smoke, noise, etc.

Physical Impact concerns have possible impacts on public safety, land, water wells, or other property.
