The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will hold a public hearing of application 1880447 at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre, 4313 – 50 Avenue, Bonnyville, Alberta, starting on March 6, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be audiocast at www.meetview.com/aer. This audiocast will only be available during the oral portion of the hearing. It will not be an official recording of the proceeding.
The AER issued a notice of hearing on September 27, 2017, and received requests to participate in response to that notice. All parties granted participation rights must be present to register at the start of the hearing.
Description of the Application
Canadian Natural Resources Limited applied under section 7.001 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Rules for approval to construct and operate a single well bitumen battery in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 15 of Section 18, Township 63, Range 3, West of the 4th Meridian, about 7 kilometres west of Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake (see map). The proposed facility would store produced oil from an existing well at the site. The well is a gas well that has been suspended since December 31, 2016, that would be recompleted, if the battery is approved, in order to produce bitumen. The facility would consist of a wellhead, tank, and compressor and would be licensed to store oil containing no hydrogen sulphide.
