New Working Interest Cost Claim Form
Today we released a new form for submitting cost claims for defaulting working interest participants.
Once abandonment or reclamation activities have been completed, an active company may submit a claim to us for costs incurred on behalf of another working interest participant. We then determine if the claim is eligible under section 70(2)(b) of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act and, if so, send the claim to the Orphan Well Association.
The entire process for working interest claims has been set out by the Orphan Well Association on their website under Producers > Working Interest Claims. This new form makes it easier for us to determine the eligibility of a claim, which will help improve turnaround times.
The updated form is available on www.aer.ca under Forms > Liability Management. Completed forms are to be sent to the AER Orphaning and Closure Team at @email
