New Edition of Directive 017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations
Today, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) released a new edition of Directive 017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations with revised measurement requirements for conventional, unconventional, and thermal in situ operations.
The new requirements are current and relevant and reflect advancements in measurement technology and in emerging unconventional resource plays. The changes give industry more flexibility in selecting measurement approaches, resulting in reduced capital and operating costs without compromising accurate measurement and reporting. The updated directive replaces the edition released on March 31, 2016, and takes effect immediately.
