Common Carrier and Common Processor Applications

The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will hold a prehearing meeting for applications 1869537 and 1869547 at Govier Hall, 3rd floor, 250 – 5th Street SW, Calgary, Alberta, on June 4, 2018, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The AER issued a notice of hearing on March 12, 2018, announcing a public hearing on the applications. The hearing will be scheduled at a later date.

What is the purpose of the meeting?

It is to obtain the parties’ views on the issues to be addressed at the hearing and procedural matters.

The meeting will not discuss evidence or argument on the merits of the applications or statements of concern.

Description of the Applications

Tykewest Limited has applied under sections 48, 55, and 56 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (OGCA) for an order declaring Encana Corporation and Enbridge G and P Canada LP common carriers of gas from the Tykewest facility located at Legal Subdivision (LSD) 13, Section 15, Township 74, Range 11, West of the Sixth Meridian.

Tykewest Limited has also applied under sections 53 and 56 of the OGCA for an order declaring Encana Corporation and Veresen Midstream General Partner Inc. as common processors of gas from the blending facility at Sexsmith plant located at LSD 04-08-075-07W6M and at Hythe plant located at LSD 11-18-074-12W6M.

How can I take part in the meeting?

The meeting is open to the public to observe. The meeting will also be webcast at www.meetview.com/aer. This webcast will only be available when the meeting is in progress and is not an official record of the proceeding.

Is this a public process?

Yes. Section 49 of the Alberta Energy Regulator Rules of Practice (Rules of Practice) requires that all documents and information filed in a proceeding be placed on the public record. If you file a submission, you must not include any personal information that you do not want on or are not authorized to put on the public record. Section 49(2) of the Rules of Practice states how to apply to the AER for an order to keep information confidential.
