Updated Joint Operating Procedures
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has worked with the Aboriginal Consultation Office (ACO) to update the Joint Operating Procedures for First Nations Consultation on Energy Resource Activities and the Joint Operating Procedures for Métis Settlements Consultation on Energy Resource Activities, which are on the AER’s Aboriginal Consultation webpage. These procedures set out the processes of the ACO and the AER on matters related to First Nation and Métis settlements consultation.
This review updated all tables and diagrams and revised the processes to make them more clear. These changes were made as part of the AER’s and ACO’s shared commitment to review and update the procedures as needed two years after their implementation.
