Alberta Environment & Parks (AEP) System Outage

Monday, August 20 - 5:00PM

RESOLVED: AEP System Outage Update

AER and Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) shared systems that were down have been restored. Thanks for your patience as we worked to bring the systems back online following a July 30th fire.

We are now using our regular online process for accepting and reviewing applications.

Since August 10, we have been manually issuing decisions for temporary field authorizations (TFAs), seismic exploration permits, and formal land dispositions. We are evaluating the volume of applications received during this time to determine when we will return to our normal processing timelines. As we work through the backlog, we will announce if there will be any significant delays.

While the systems have been thoroughly tested, some issues may still arise. If you encounter any problems, please contact Inquires at 403-297-8311 or Inquiries@aer.ca.

AEP System Outage Update

Due to a fire, some systems that we share with the Government of Alberta (e.g., GLIMPS) remain offline.

We will continue manually processing applications for temporary field authorizations (TFAs), seismic exploration permits, and formal land disposition and issuing temporary approvals by email until the systems are restored. This process has no impact on confidentiality.

Please see Bulletin 2018-19 Manual Process for Issuing Approvals for Temporary Field Authorizations, Seismic Exploration Permits, and Formal Land Dispositions for more information.

For more information on the outage, please visit the AEP website.

AEP System Outage Update

AER and Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) shared systems are experiencing an outage due to a fire at the Alberta Forestry Building in Edmonton.

Some shared systems that require Government of Alberta credentials remain offline (e.g., GLIMPS) or may be degraded (e.g., PDF documents are not available for download for recent submissions in the Authorizations Viewer). At this time, the AER is unable to process or make decisions on submitted public lands applications. Industry is also unable to submit new public lands applications or find out about the status of current public lands dispositions and submitted applications.

The AER and AEP are working together to develop an interim process for accepting and deciding on public land applications. More information will be made available in the coming days.

For more information on the outage, please visit the AEP website.
